In April 2020 the Heritage Gallery at the Core was meant to house an exhibition celebrating the 800th anniversary of St Alphege Church. The St Alphege 800 Steering Group co-ordinated information from a variety of Christian organisations within Solihull parish to celebrate 800 years of Christianity in the district.
Although the Covid-19 pandemic has affected the range of events planned to celebrate the anniversary, you are still able to contribute to the 800 Acts of Kindness initiative. Some of the planned exhibition content is on our virtual Heritage Gallery exhibition below.
Clicking on an image will lead you to a page with further information and, if you scroll down on each page, there is a link to a virtual Heritage Gallery panel.
As well as telling the history of Christianity in Solihull through St Alphege Church itself, the exhibition was also intended to feature other Christian organisations in the Solihull Parish area, including:
- Bethesda Chapel
- Christ Church URC and its Victorian predecessor
- East Wind Tabernacle
- Jubilee Church
- St Augustine’s Catholic Church
- St Helen’s Church
- St Michael’s Church – Oak Cottage
- Solihull Methodist Church
- Solihull Quaker Meeting
