Join Solihull Council’s archivist and local studies librarian, Tracey Williams, on a free guided walk around Solihull town centre on Armed Forces Day, Saturday 27th June 2026.
Places are limited so ADVANCE BOOKING IS ESSENTIAL – see booking details below.
The walk is about 2km and should take around 90 minutes, departing at 10am from The Core Library, Solihull. The route is flat and paved throughout so is wheelchair accessible.
There is a lot of walking and talking/listening, so the event is unlikely to be suitable for under-16s.
Regrettably, dogs (other than assistance dogs) are not permitted on the walk.
BOOKING
Places are very limited so must be booked in advance. Please do not turn up on the day without having booked a place.
Commentary will be delivered via wireless headsets that will be provided. Attendees are asked to bring along wired headphones (3.5mm jack) if possible. Please note that wireless headphones or ear buds will not work with our system.
Please book a place on this walk via the Library Events page. Tickets will be available to book from 7th June.
A military heritage trail featuring some of the town centre’s historic links, is available as a digital leaflet on Solihull Council’s website if you prefer to undertake a self-guided tour.
